Saica Flex Deeside won two awards recently at the EFIA Gala Night in Manchester, with both jobs being printed on a Mark Andy Performance Series P5 press.

The Gold Award for “Surface Print on Film” went to ICL Mini Chunks, printed as a composite run on Treofan EUH70 and run off at 80 m/m using the extended color gamut of CMYK + OVG. The company also notched a Silver Award for an IPA Crafty Ape promotion label, which was printed straight afterwards with no changes to the press. Both jobs used JFM plates and Paragon Inks.

Speaking for Saica Flex Deeside, Darren Charlton said, “We were thrilled to win two awards on the night, and having Mark Andy presses played a key part in this because holding tight register across seven colors was critical. Our P5 had no trouble in doing this throughout the run, and the two winning jobs are typical of the day-to-day quality we produce at Deeside.”

In all, Saica Flex has six Mark Andy flexo presses at its Deeside facility, the latest P5 being delivered in 2017.
